Nancy Pecen, M.D.
Dr. Pecen grew-up in Korea and received her Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Medicine from Korea University. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the same university in 1972. She completed two psychiatric residencies. Her first residency was at Han Yang University Hospital in Seoul, Korea. From 1975-1978, she completed a second residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, IL. She continued her training in the United States by completing a Fellowship in Child Psychiatry from the University of Illinois at the Institute for Juvenile Research and a Fellowship in Neurology from Cook County Hospital.
Dr. Pecen has had extensive experience in mental health clinics, inpatient hospital units, and private mental health facilities. She worked for the City of Chicago Department of Mental Health, for the McGrath Clinic in Palos Heights, for Baber and Associates in Aurora, and for the Touchstone Group in Westmont. At the present time, she brings her wealth of experience to bear in her treatment of the patients in her private practice.
Dr. Pecen specializes in treating children ages two through adolescence as well as adults with a variety of psychiatric needs. She provides initial consultation, ongoing medication management, family consultations, and coordination with patients’ primary care physicians and pediatricians.
Dr. Pecen is a member of the Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, the American Psychiatric Association, the Illinois Psychiatric Association, and the International Society for Adolescent Psychiatry. She received Board Certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 1986. She has been in practice as a psychiatrist in the United States since 1978.
